Plan More Than Just the Building
Most construction budgets are more than one number. The Project Cost Planner is built for anyone estimating a full project — a homeowner planning a new garage and driveway, a small developer sizing up a warehouse or self-storage build, or a contractor putting together an early budget for a client. Instead of pricing the building alone, you can combine it with sitework, renovation items, professional fees, and your own custom costs into a single early-stage planning estimate.
Every estimate reflects your project's ZIP code, so the numbers are adjusted for local construction costs rather than a single nationwide average. You can enter measurements manually, reuse a saved measurement across components, or measure an area or length directly on a map where that's available.
A BuildGrade project estimate is an early-stage planning estimate, not a contractor bid — it's a useful starting point for budgeting, comparing options, and knowing what questions to ask before you get formal quotes.
What Can You Include in a Project Estimate?
- The main building
- Site and exterior work — parking, fencing, retaining walls, concrete
- Renovation or rehab work on an existing property
- Professional and soft costs — design, survey, geotechnical, permits
- Custom project costs BuildGrade doesn't model automatically
- Contingency for the unknowns every project runs into
How BuildGrade Project Estimates Work
Enter your project ZIP code, then add each piece of the project as its own component — the main building, sitework, professional costs, or anything else. Quantities can be entered directly, reused from a saved measurement, or measured on a map. BuildGrade combines every component into one project estimate with a low, expected, and high range, plus an optional contingency for costs that aren't known yet.
Once your estimate is built, it's saved locally in your browser so you can come back to it, and you can email yourself a summary to keep or share.
BuildGrade estimates are intended for early-stage planning and budgeting. Actual contractor bids, local conditions, permitting requirements, and project-specific conditions may vary.
